why are blueberries white inside? and other exciting things

This is the subject of a family joke. In my "stupidity" I had never registered they weren't blue all the way through but it still continues to amaze me.. I bought some on Monday as part of a healthy eating/detox week. I've been sick on and off for the past month so I'm trying to regain my healthy glow.. They look prettier than they taste though so I took a photo on my bedroom windowsill. I guess I shouldn't buy fruit that's out of season by about 4 months.

My mum gave me some yellow roses before I left on Sunday. They are so pretty especially in the sun. This winter sun is lovely but has no heat which I don't appreciate. My cheeks froze on my way over to uni this morning. But I had to do the walk in 15 mins and it usually takes 30 mins so I warmed up pretty quick!

My friend from uni Janice came over yesterday evening and we had some tea together after an introductory course on all things wool for her! We had some hearty lentil soup with toast fingers for starter and chicken with pesto languine, basil and oyster mushrooms for main. We headed out to my boyf's house when we were finished. Lucy was about to have her puppies. (She had them during the night.) I will post photos soon when they are feeling a little more photogenic!

Most of my post goes to Chris's house so I was excited
to find my package from www.tinyairplanes.etsy.com
Nikki finally managed to get the postal service to
decide how much they needed to receive to post the
parcel and it arrived. (What goes on over there???!)
I nearly jumped with glee when I found this inside:
a groovy retro scarf..

snuggled in beside the other things I ordered. She spins the most beautiful yarn. It definitely is "next to skin soft" and the colours in baby elephant walk are so beaut - pinks, greys and yellows. yum yum.
My bank also found time to send me my credit card, two months and three weeks after I first applied. How sweet of them. So my etsy store can finally get up and running.. once I get Jan to model my goodies!!!

cupcake designs homecoming

Last Saturday I went to my first craft fair in my hometown of Cavan after a frantic, exhausting month of pretty much nonstop knitting. It was very much a last minute decision, taken on impulse and without regard for the massive amount of continuous assessment lined up for me at uni. But.. it was a big success and I sold most of my goodies. I brought a mixture of hats, shrugs, scarves, handwarmers, some linoprints and lots of handmade cards. My sisters both came and did a great job modelling my shrugs :O) (below) I even got a few orders. yipee!

Hopefully I can get my etsy store up and running soon (www.cupcakedesigns.etsy.com) when my bank finally send out my credit card and then you guys can all come and have a peek.

Here are a few more photos of the stand close up taken by my lovely sis Helen on Saturday:
